Congratulations to Valley Medical Group physician Daniel Suffin, D.O., whose manuscript has been accepted and published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM).
The manuscript, "An Unexpected Cause of Hemoptysis," examines a case in which a patient’s hemoptysis (coughing up of blood), was caused by strongyloides stercoralis, a human pathogenic parasitic roundworm, commonly known as threadworm.
Dr. Suffin, who is corresponding author on the article, collaborated with three physicians from The Valley Hospital to put this piece together: Neil Gaffin, M.D., and Simon J. Tsiouris, M.D., from the Department of Infectious Disease and Suzanne M. Brandt, M.D., from the Department of Pathology.
"An Unexpected Cause of Hemoptysis" will appear in the Articles in Press section of the AJRCCM website. You can view the summary by visiting www.atsjournals.org/toc/ajrccm/0/ja
