Valley Health System recently held a breakfast kick off event for the 2015 American Heart Association Bergen/Passaic Heart Walk.
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s signature fundraising event. It is a community celebration that encourages people to get active while raising funds to support the mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Valley has been a longstanding supporter and participant in the annual Heart Walk. At the breakfast, Valley teams were recognized for their efforts in last year’s walk. Valley’s company team — Heart Care for Women — chaired by Valley Medical Group cardiologist Benita Burke, M.D. — was named First Place Fundraising Team Overall for the Bergen Passaic Heart Walk 2014. The three top groups representing Heart Care for Women were:
First Place Fundraising Team — Team Outreach, Pamela Pate and Ashley Allison, Team Captains
Second Place Fundraising Team — Cardiac Bravehearts, Lisa Tanis, Team Captain
Third Place Fundraising Team — Valley Heart Throbs, Fran Maceyak, Team Captain
The 2015 Bergen Passaic Heart Walk will take place on the morning of Sunday, September 27, in Van Saun Park, Paramus. For more information and to register online, please visit www.bergenpassaicheartwalk.org
