The Valley Hospital Named One of America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care in 2016

The Valley Hospital is proud to announce that it has earned the 2016 Women’s Choice Award as one of WCA-HeartCare-2014-2016.pngAmerica’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care for the third consecutive year. Valley, which became affiliated with Cleveland Clinic Heart & Vascular Institute in 2015, is one of only 352 hospitals in the United States to qualify for this evidence-based designation, signifying their commitment to meeting the highest standards in heart care.

“We are proud to be among the small group of hospitals recognized as being one of the nation’s best for heart care,” said Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System.  “Because there are differences in the signs and symptoms of heart disease in women compared to men, it is important to have specialists experienced in the treatment of female patients. This recognition is a testament to the priority that Valley’s Heart Care for Women program places on making sure a woman’s needs are met when it comes to heart care.”

The Women’s Choice Award is based on robust criteria that consider patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, and what women really want when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience. To qualify for the 2016 America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care list, hospitals must offer a minimum number of cardiac and/or vascular services, perform well clinically with regard to heart care measures reported to Medicare, and also have a high Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) recommendation score.

Valley’s affiliation with Cleveland Clinic Heart & Vascular Institute provides patients in northern New Jersey and Rockland and Westchester counties with new and enhanced treatment options and greater access to clinical trials and technologies in cardiology and cardiac surgery.  Valley Medical Group doctors have the opportunity to easily and quickly consult with Cleveland Clinic doctors to ensure the highest quality and innovative care plan for their patients.  Cleveland Clinic has been ranked #1 in heart care by the U.S. News & World Report for the past 21 consecutive years.
