Valley Medical Group (VMG) is pleased to announce that Gail M. Matthews, M.D., has been named Chair of Women’s
Services. Dr. Mathews currently serves as the Medical Director of The Valley Hospital’s Center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and she will continue in that role.
In her new position as Chair of Women’s Services for VMG, Dr. Matthews will be a member of VMG’s leadership team with oversight responsibility for the delivery of clinical services for women, including program development and strategic planning.
Dr. Matthews, a resident of Ridgewood, NJ, has been a member of Valley’s medical staff since January 2007. She is a graduate of the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, and she completed her internship and residency at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. She completed her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. After her training, she was an associate professor of obstetrics/gynecology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She was formerly on the staff of New York University School of Medicine.
