What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

Hypertension, diabetes mellitus, asthma, COPD, hyperlipidemia, acute respiratory infections.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

I provide thorough and attentive primary medical care for chronic and ongoing medical issues, as well as acute episodic care.  I especially enjoy the diagnostic phase of a patient's medical care and working with the patient to determine the etiology of their symptoms to the extent that it’s possible.

What inspired you to become a doctor?

I knew I wanted to use scientific knowledge and logic to serve people in need of care.  I also wanted to be a caring and attentive counsellor to those with medical problems or in need of medical advice.

“Dr. Fernicola is a wonderful and caring physician.  He is very thorough and made me feel very comfortable.  He never rushes and takes time to access all my concerns.”

I appreciate the friendliness, accuracy and follow-up from the administrative staff, who are unfailingly polite and eager to answer any questions. I feel fortunate to have such good primary care.”
