Diabetes Care Recognition
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has recognized four Valley Medical Group physicians for their high-quality care of patients with diabetes.
The four physicians receiving NCQA diabetes care recognition are:
Phil Desplat, D.O., a board-certified family practitioner and senior medical director of the Dumont Center;
Jessie Ferreras, M.D., a board-certified family practitioner at the Waldwick Center;
Michele Howe, D.O., a board-certified family practitioner and medical director of the Riverdale Center;
David Strassberg, M.D., a board-certified internist and medical director of the Waldwick Center.
The NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. The NCQA, in partnership with the American Diabetes Association, developed the Diabetes Recognition Program to recognize clinicians who have met standards demonstrating the delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes.
“Clinicians who earn recognition through the Diabetes Recognition Program have an established track record of providing excellent diabetes care,” says John Buse, M.D., Ph.D., president of medicine and science for the American Diabetes Association. “The list of recognized clinicians is the first place to look if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with diabetes.”
